Reading skills

I was actuall in the beginning teaching my partner about the main idea and transitions. But the main thing I should have been explaining to her is the purpose and tone which I did yesterday. I explained to her what different types of tones there are and exactly what is. I told her how the purpose can be to inform, persuade, or entertain. She didnt exactly know what either of those ment so I broke that down for her.
  
Then I explained tone. How it can be a surprised tone if she was to read a mystery book, or a playful tone if it was a fun type of book.
